Monday Motivation: Success Is Built On Failure

One rule that I have implemented into my work this year was to do one challenging or uncomfortable thing per day for my business. So often the fear of failure can halt progress in its tracks. When fear is allowed to stop progress we’re likely missing out on some great opportunities.

Make Mistakes

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. They only make you human. Failure is inevitable if you want to lead a remarkable life. If you want to make changes in your professional or personal life, embrace the uncertainty and struggle of trying something new. Allow room for failure in your strategy. It is not that you’re planning for bad things to happen, but giving them space to happen if they must and then moving on. Don’t dwell on failure but use it as leverage to learn and grow.

Be On Your Own Side

If you had a close friend who screwed up at work or really messed up an important conversation with a loved one, how would you respond to their feeling of failure? Likely you’d respond in a compassionate manner, assuring them that things will be alright and that it’s not the end of the world. When dealing with your own failures, give yourself some compassion as you would a friend. Don’t allow failure to define your self-worth but to build your knowledge and resiliency.

What is holding you back from pursuing your goals?
